- … from all the laughs. Retta is so funny (but she already knows it so don't Tweet that out to her and fill up her Twitter feed!). I never watched Parks and Rec but now I'm going to have to find it on either Prime or Hulu. I am pretty sure she's as funny in Parks and Rec as she comes across as in her book! I'm stuck on her just like she's stuck on the LA Kings hockey team and the Broadway play Hamilton.
- Retta's literary debut is a page-turner that you'll enjoy sharing with friends and colleagues. Read it! You'll be reluctant to put the book down. Trade updates with your book club about favorite chapters , and lol together in recalling her stories and references to Parks Rec, live-tweeting TV shows (my personal fav was her Downton Abbey commentary), and of course, all things LA Kings and Hamilton. Retta's combination of intelligence, warmth, talent and humor that are unique to her acting accomplishments, are highlighted in this book. From her early days in stand up comedy and live shows on the college circuit, to forging her own path in Hollywood—Retta shows us that belief and pursuit of one's dreams are as meaningful as the reward itself, maybe more so (with the exception of the Hermes Birkin, haha).

- When I first saw the cover I was exciting to see and read about the actress who I watched on GGTD and Good Girls. I didn't even know she was a comedian, but turns out this girl is funny! Yes language is rough, but it gives you the chance to see the real personality she has. Its a great read and very funny.
- Twitter remains her sounding board and Snapchat her version of a reality show, but this book brings Retta’s full personality into your daily life in a way you didn’t know you needed it.
