Bad things happen no matter where you live, and as primers go this is an exceptional place to start. Lovely paperback with nice color pictures for demonstrative purposes, simple yet not condescending. I highly recommend this book for city dwellers, college age persons who are on their own for the first time, retirees trapped in neighborhoods of declining quality and aging infrastructure, young adults who are coming of age and need some choice lessons in thinking ahead, or anyone who wants to dive into the subject but didn't know where to begin.
• … but not really what I was looking for. I was hoping for ways to use duct tape and paracord.
• A down to earth guide giving concrete suggestions for emergency preparedness as implemented by one family. If you are looking for a way to start and get your feet on the ground, this is a good place to begin; Dave cuts through the fluff and high priced equipment to practical basics.
